Celebrate St. Paddy’s, wear green to Veolia Austin Open on Championship Sunday
LAKEWAY, TX – For those spectating on Championship Sunday at the Veolia Austin Open, this is your PSA to wear green for the occasion.
St. Patrick’s Day is March 17, which so happens to be Championship Sunday for the PPA’s Austin tournament. The PPA is hoping to have the majority of spectators and players wearing green to celebrate.
Though the No. 1 mixed doubles team in the world, Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns started a trend of wearing pink on Championship Sunday, they might be sporting shamrock green for the holiday.
Green is also the perfect color not only for the celebration of the Irish holiday, but it’s also a perfect color for pickleball. Pickles are green, most pickleballs have a greenish color. It’s kind of a perfect match.
Green and pickleball really go hand in hand.
Additionally, the holiday falls coincidentally during the Austin Open where the title sponsor is Veolia, an environmental solutions company that’s working with the PPA to greenify tournaments.
Hence, going green with Veolia. On St. Patrick’s Day. This is just too perfect.
So, let’s go green at the Veolia Austin Open!
