Christian downs Fahey in women’s singles at Texas Open
ROCKWALL, TX – No. 8 seeded Kaitlyn Christian continues to prove why she’s one to watch in women’s singles. Going up against Kate Fahey, another up and comer in pro pickleball, Christian pulled out the victory in an exciting three game match.
The final score was 11-5, 9-11, 11-7.
“[Fahey] definitely put her foot on the gas pedal in game two and I think I took mine off a little bit,” explained Christian.
“But I came out firing in game three and told myself to keep the high energy despite the tough weather conditions,” continued Christian.
Christian shared that she’s been working on more elements of her game that helped her take home this victory today.
“I tried to work on my two handed backhand at the kitchen line and I’m trying to develop an all-around game. I don’t want there to be any holes in my pickleball game. Coming from tennis, I definitely have to work more on the soft stuff at the kitchen,” said Christian.
Christian advances to the round of 16 where she will play the winner of Taylor Garcia and Carlota Trevino.
