
Do upsets Tellez to make Round of 16
LOS ANGELES, CA - Quan Do is into the Round of 16 at the Veolia LA Open presented by Deep Eddy Vodka after an 11-7, 11-8 victory over No. 6 seed Pablo Tellez.
This is the second win of the day for No. 37 seed after beating Blaine Hovenier in three games to start his campaign.
The former professional tennis player has been playing pickleball for two years and says that having that extensive racquet sports background has helped him develop a more efficient technique on his shots.
Even though he’s into his first PPA Round of 16, Do just wants to take Thursday one match at a time.
“I’m just gonna try my best and see where it goes,” he shared.
He’ll face No. 11 seed Aanik Lohani next.
