Glozman enjoying success in first singles tournament of 2024
ST. GEORGE, UT - Last week in Los Angeles, Vivian Glozman had a successful run in doubles that ended with her earning a silver medal alongside Lacy Schneemann.
This week, she seems to be having similar success in singles.
She’s racked up four wins on the day after starting in the qualifying rounds and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
In her first main draw match, she bested No. 3 seed Judit Castillo 11-7, 11-2. She followed that up with an 11-0, 11-6 victory over No. 28 seed Michelle Esquivel.
This is Glozman’s first singles tournament of 2024 and just her second since January, but she’s hoping that her performance shows the work she’s been putting in over the last few months.
“Everyone thought I quit, so I hope this proves that you can still be playing and training even if you’re not playing tournaments,” she said.
Glozman will face either Jorja Johnson or Ekaterina Biakina in the quarterfinals.
