MLP announces Paddletek One Point Challenge
Major League Pickleball (MLP), in partnership with Paddletek, will be hosting the first-ever Paddletek One Point Challenge – featuring 128 doubles teams in a one-point-per-round, single-elimination event with $25,000 on the line – as part of the Edward Jones Mid-Season Tournament in Grand Rapids, MI later this summer.
The event is open to amateur players and will take place at Belknap Park from Thursday, July 9 through Sunday, July 12, with all proceeds going to the Belknap Park Foundation.
The final eight amateur doubles teams will be split up and drafted by 16 MLP pros, with whom they will play pro-am doubles for a single point per round.
The winning doubles team – one MLP pro and one amateur – will then face off in singles with the winner of that point taking home $20,000 (runner up will earn $5,000).
Registration closes July 8 at noon (or earlier if capacity is reached).
For further details on event format and schedule, visit the Paddletek One Point Challenge page on the MLP website.
