MLP debuts on Polymarket starting with San Diego Playoffs

Major League Pickleball (MLP presented by DoorDash) is officially on Polymarket.

Polymarket is the world’s largest prediction market, allowing users to stay informed and profit from their knowledge by betting on future events across various topics.

The partnership is debuting in conjunction with the upcoming Toray MLP San Diego Playoffs, which runs Friday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 17 at Barnes Tennis Center.

Users buy and sell shares representing future event outcomes on Polymarket.

Four different MLP markets are currently online, including Major League Pickleball winner, Who makes NYC Final FourMiami Pickleball Club vs. Texas Ranchers first-round matchup, and Utah Black Diamonds vs. Orlando Squeeze first-round matchup.

Available only internationally, it marks the first time in MLP history that betting odds are being offered on teams.

Shares in event outcomes are always priced between $0.00 and $1.00 USD Coin (USDC), and every pair of event outcomes (i.e. each pair of "YES" + "NO" shares) is fully collateralized by $1.00 USDC.

Shares are created when opposing sides come to an agreement on odds, such that the sum of what each side is willing to pay is equal to $1.00 USDC.

The shares representing the correct, final outcome are paid out $1.00 USDC each upon market resolution.

Given the uptick in activity and interest around prediction markets, MLP’s partnership with Polymarket represents a notable pilot project as the league continues to explore making betting opportunities available to wider audiences.

The simplicity of the Polymarket concept should attract MLP enthusiasts to give it a try.

MLP is also planning to embed the Pickleballtv broadcast stream of the Toray MLP San Diego Playoffs on Polymarket so users can enjoy the event via the platform as well.

Here is a quick step-by-step guide to using Polymarket:

Buy "Yes" or "No" shares depending on your prediction. Buying shares is like betting on the outcome. Odds shift in real time as other traders bet.

2. Place a Bet

Fund your account with crypto, credit/debit card, or bank transfer—then you're ready to bet. No bet limits and no fees.

3. Profit
Sell your "Yes" or "No" shares at any time, or wait until the market ends to redeem winning shares for $1 each. Create an account and place your first trade in minutes.
