OWL Sport unveils quiet paddle that keeps the decibels down
DALLAS, TX - One of pickleball’s most common complaints is the noise levels associated with the constant back and forth of paddles hitting plastic balls again and again for hours on end.
With the sport’s incredible boom in popularity following the COVID-19 pandemic, pickleball courts are only getting more crowded with players enjoying America’s fastest growing sport at all hours of the day and night.
According to a press release on November 14, OWL Sport has taken the first step to remedy those noise complaints by releasing the first-ever noise reduction paddle.
Based on USA Pickleball’s Quiet Category, these paddles offer a 50% reduction in sound.
“We appreciate this collaboration with OWL Sport as they launch a paddle that allows for both a reduced acoustic footprint and excellent performance in competition. This marks the very first certified Quiet Category paddle on the market,” said Mike Nealy, CEO of USA Pickleball. “This marks an exciting milestone in our continued efforts to provide acoustics-related solutions to sound-sensitive locations.”
Not only do these paddles deliver a hertz level below 600 where regular paddles on the market average 1,000 – 1,200 hertz, but they also don’t compromise on the quality of play.
OWL Sport’s innovations ensure their paddles fall perfectly within the USA Pickleball Quiet Category, and it’s already garnering rave reviews.
“Everything about its touch, control, power, comfort is at a whole new level,” said Jessica Warren, a top APP pro player. “I was amazed when I first played with it. The OWL is the single best performing paddle I have ever hit. Period.”
OWL Sport wanted to create a paddle for players of all skill levels hungry to play without the worry of noise complaints.
“Our goal is to provide the ultimate platform to allow people to play high performance pickleball when and where they want,” said Rick Schwenk, Chief Marketing Officer of OWL Sport.
