Pandas outduel Aces for first win in NYC
The Frisco Pandas’ trip to New York City didn’t start the way they would have liked with four consecutive losses, but they ended it on a positive note with a DreamBreaker victory over the Brooklyn Aces.
Early on in the encounter, Frisco’s Ewa Radzikowska and new addition Tammy Emmrich overcame a late deficit against Lina Padegimaite and Layne Sleeth to steal the women’s doubles point.
That win proved to be crucial, as the match stood at a stalemate after four games.
Emmrich—who the Pandas added during Waiver Period 2—continued to be the X-factor in the singles contest.
She outscored Padegimaite 6-2 through two rotations, which helped Frisco come away with a 21-16 victory.
The Pandas are now finished after winning their final match of the weekend.
The Aces, on the other hand, are still searching for their first win in front of their hometown crowd. They’ll have two more chances to triumph when they face the Florida Smash and Las Vegas Night Owls on Sunday.
