Pickleball.com launches Game Maker on National Pickleball Day
Pickleball.com, the world's largest pickleball ecosystem platform, launched Game Maker on August 8 in celebration of National Pickleball Day. The free mobile app is designed to simplify recreational pickleball for the sport's rapidly growing community of casual players — helping them find courts, organize games, and connect with other players in their area.
Available on iOS and Android, Game Maker launched to Pickleball.com's existing base of more than 700,000 players across 105 countries.
Built for the Person Who Runs the Game
Game Maker was built with the player who is the organizer of games for their friends in mind - the player who finds the courts, texts the regulars, tracks who's in, scrambles to fill open spots. You know, the one who makes pickleball happen for their crew every week. The app replaces the chaos of group texts and does all the work, so organizers can spend less time coordinating and more time playing.
"I'm the organizer in my group. I'm the one sending the texts, tracking who's in, finding subs, and figuring out the courts," said Michael Brown, President of Pickleball Play Solutions (a division of Pickleball Inc. and the developer of PickleballTournaments.com and Pickleball.com). "Game Maker is the app I, along with millions of other pickleball group organizers, need. It makes getting a group together and out on the court genuinely effortless and that's exactly what we built it to do."
How Game Maker Works
Game Maker is built around several core features:
Create Games — Set up a game in minutes. Invite friends, manage RSVPs, schedule recurring sessions, and track scores. The app supports singles, doubles, skinny singles, and organized play formats including Round Robin, King of the Court, and Partner Scramble, with the ability to integrate with DUPR, the sport's leading player rating system, allowing players to report recreational game results directly to their rating.
Find Courts — Discover nearby pickleball courts with everything a player needs to know before they go: distance, number of courts, amenities, whether play is free or paid, and a direct link to contact the facility.
Find Players — Search for players by location, connect, and see where they are playing. New to pickleball or a new area? Game Maker helps players find their community.
Ask Pickles to Do It — Your AI assistant “Pickles the Dog” can do it all for you. Ask Pickles to find courts, create games, and navigate the app using voice commands.

Beyond the Pickup Game: Organized Play for Rec Players
For players who want more structure than a casual hit-around but aren't ready to enter a tournament, Game Maker offers built-in organized play formats — the kind of competitive formats that rec groups have been running informally with whiteboards, pen and paper, and someone doing math between games.
Round Robin — doubles with fixed partners or singles competing against each other, with automatic leaderboard tracking and standings. No more scribbling scores on a notepad.
Scramble — players rotate partners every round, so everyone plays with everyone - individual stats accumulate across rounds. It's the format that answers "who's actually the best player in our group?" without anyone having to organize a spreadsheet.
King of the Court — teams move up or down courts based on wins and losses. The higher the court, the tougher the competition. It's the format rec groups have been trying to run manually — now it runs itself.
DUPR Rating Sessions — every match counts toward a player's official DUPR rating. For rec players who want their casual games to actually mean something, this is the bridge between pickup play and competitive play.

At the end of every session, Game Maker generates full results and standings — where you finished, who was on top, your head-to-head record, your best partner, your toughest matchup. The kind of data that used to require a tournament director now happens automatically after Tuesday night doubles.
Organized play formats are available through Game Maker Premium at $4.99/month or $49.99/year. Core features including court finding, game creation, and player connections remain free.
