Pickleball will make presence felt at Australian Open 2025

Pickleball will be front and center at Australian Open 2025 next month.

The first of the four annual Grand Slam tennis events will host the inaugural AO Pickleball Slam from January 24-26 on Court 3 at Melbourne Park.

According to a press release, "the AO Pickleball Slam will unite an international roster of players, from seasoned professionals to rising stars."

Held during finals weekend, the AO Pickleball Slam will feature a $100,000 prize pool.

“This is a great addition for the Australian Open, the sport that makes you happier finding a home at the Happy Slam,” said Tennis Australia Chief Tennis Officer Tom Larner. “Pickleball is a sport for everyone, and its rapid growth globally highlights its unique ability to connect people of all ages and backgrounds. By bringing pickleball to the AO, we’re embracing the future of racquet sports and providing an incredible experience for players and fans alike."
