And that was the case again on Thursday alongside Catherine Parenteau in a mixed doubles victory over fifth-seeded Tina Pisnik and Dekel Bar.
The No. 12 seeds triumphed 8-11, 11-1, 11-5.
“I felt like we were dinking too much in the first game, and Tina is one of the best dinkers out here, so I felt like we had to put on a little bit more pressure,” said Parenteau. “I told Jack to just be big in the middle, because he’s so big and athletic, so I told him to just go out there and put a ton of pressure on her. I thought we did a pretty good job as a team.”
Parenteau and Sock will battle Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns in the quarterfinals on Friday.
“We showcased a lot of our skill and potential against Ben and AL in Arizona, so we know we have that level in us, but I’m going be applying a lot more pressure, using my athleticism, and cover the court,” shared Sock. “That’s definitely our tactics moving forward.”
