Tennis Hall of Famers compete in Pickleball Slam

DALLAS, TX – The second annual Pickleball Slam was held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL on Sunday.

And despite a year’s worth of chirping and challenging, Team Agassi brought home the $1 million cash purse.

Four tennis legends went head-to-head in mixed doubles as the main event.

Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf battled John McEnroe and Maria Sharapova.

At the inaugural Pickleball Slam last year, Agassi won alongside Andy Roddick.

Since then, Agassi and McEnroe have been drilling, practicing, and challenging each other on social media.

McEnroe arrived on Sunday night ready to play, but Agassi and Graf secured an 11-7, 12-11 victory.

“It was good to be out there, and being a part of it was so much fun,” said Graf. “It has been a challenge coming from tennis to change over to pickleball, but it’s been a blast.”

Former tennis pro Jack Sock, who joined the PPA Tour this year, also got involved in this year’s Pickleball Slam, joining forces with Agassi for a men’s doubles match before the main event.

The Pickleball Slam 2 champions walked away with guitar shaped trophies and a newfound respect for the game we love.
