Tennis stars Bouchard, Sock join forces at Zimmer Biomet Masters powered by Invited
There are quite a few interesting tandems in the mixed doubles draw at the Zimmer Biomet Masters powered by Invited this week in Rancho Mirage, CA.
The favorites are top-seeded Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns, of course, and second-seeded Jorja Johnson and JW Johnson are perennial contenders as well.
Maybe it’s third-seeded Anna Bright and Hayden Patriquin’s turn to claim gold together? Only time will tell.

A little bit further down the bracket is an interesting duo at No. 20 that fans should pay special attention to, though, because it features two notable names from the professional tennis ranks.
Genie Bouchard and Jack Sock are joining forces for the first time at Mission Hills Country Club with hopes of making some noise and proving that their respective transitions to the pickleball world continue to trend in the right direction.
Bouchard and Sock will open Round of 64 play on Tuesday against Camila Zilveti and Patrick Smith, so an early test awaits.
Beat Zilveti and Smith and a matchup with Meghan Dizon and AJ Koller in the Round of 32 looks like a strong possibility.
Oust Dizon and Koller and a battle with Catherine Parenteau and Federico Staksrud could be on the horizon in the Round of 16.
It’s safe to say that the path to earning a podium finish for Bouchard and Sock might be difficult, but it should be fun to watch nonetheless.
While Bouchard is still seeking her first-ever medal on the PPA Tour, Sock earned a mixed doubles title alongside Waters at the OS1st North Carolina Open presented by Intralinks in May 2023, so he can obviously draw on that experience in this particular discipline.
Broadcast coverage of the Zimmer Biomet Masters powered by Invited begins on Tuesday at 1pm ET on Pickleballtv.
