
Todd, Johnson upset Schneemann, McGuffin in Round of 32
PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA – Parris Todd and Hunter Johnson defeated Lacy Schneemann and Tyson McGuffin 11-9, 7-11, 11-1 on Wednesday.
Todd and Johnson came into the bracket as the No. 25 seed and upset the No. 7 seed.
“Hunter has been playing great lately and he was going after it, so I’m feeling pretty good on his side of the net,” said Todd.
Todd and McGuffin are actually on the same MLP team this year, the Orlando Squeeze, so it creates a unique dynamic for the pro players.
“I really reeled in my drives during the third game because I was overhitting them and losing control during the second game,” said Johnson. “I don’t think I missed one in the third game, so we put a lot of pressure on them and pulled out the win.”
On Thursday, they will go up against the winner of Black/Frazier and Martinez Vich/ Brascia.
