Waters, Bright power past Parenteau, Rohrabacher for first title since 2023
Anna Leigh Waters/Anna Bright defeated Catherine Parenteau/Rachel Rohrabacher 11-4, 11-7, 11-3 in a highly anticipated battle for the women’s doubles crown.
It was the matchup that pickleball fans and enthusiasts had been hoping to see since the draws for this week’s tournament were released: a bout between four players with no shortage of familiarity with each other.
Waters split from Parenteau last month—ending one of the most dominant partnerships in the history of the sport—and Bright split from Rohrabacher after Waters asked her to partner up for the rest of 2025.

When the teams met on Sunday with a gold medal on the line, Waters/Bright proved to be too much for Rohrabacher/Parenteau.
One of the keys for the No. 2 seeds was speeding balls up through the middle, and they took advantage of several miscommunications from their opponents to eventually close out the win in straight games.
Rohrabacher spoke about the experience of playing alongside Parenteau for the first time after having competed against each other several times over the past year and a half.
“It’s just really been a pleasure playing with Catherine,” she said. “Not only is she an amazing player, but she’s an amazing person.”
This win gives Waters her 150th career title on the PPA Tour. She is now just two behind Ben Johns for most all-time.
The 18-year-old gave credit to all her doubles partners through the years.
“I’m just super proud of myself and proud that I was able to share the court with so many amazing partners,” she mentioned. “I couldn’t have done it without them.”
In the bronze medal match, No. 3 seeds Tyra Black/Parris Todd defeated No. 9 seeds Kate Fahey/Tina Pisnik by an 11-5, 11-8 score line.
