Waters, Parenteau victorious in women’s dubs
PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA – The top-seeded women's doubles tandem of Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau dominated on Humana Championship Court on Sunday, putting a stop to Jade Kawamoto and Andrea Koop’s incredible run.
It marked the 16th career title for the dynamic duo together.
“It means a lot to win this one,” said Parenteau. “I just want to thank Anna Leigh. I don’t think I’ve ever told her that but, she has so many options to play with so many players. She’s the best in the world, and I’m so lucky to be able to compete next to her.”
As Waters continues towards another Triple Crown in the Peach State, she’s also finishing up her final high school exams.
“I have to take my English final exam after this,” she revealed with a laugh.
Good luck, Anna Leigh. If your test-taking skills are anything like your pickleball skills, I think you’ll be just fine.
