Wilson, David weather the storm to make Semis
PHOENIX, AZ - Things weren’t looking good for Vivienne David and Thomas Wilson in their mixed doubles quarterfinal match against Allyce Jones and Connor Garnett.
Their opponents were fresh off of an impressive comeback victory in the Round of 16, and they found themselves down a game and trailing 0-4.

The best competitors and teams in any sport, though, have the ability to find another gear in those moments when their backs are against the wall.
And in this match, David and Wilson showed why they are one of the best mixed doubles teams in pickleball.
After that 0-4 mark, they went on a 20-6 run between the next two games to capture Game 2 11-7 and jump out to a 10-3 lead in the deciding contest.
The comeback nearly fell apart thanks to a valiant effort by Jones and Garnett, but the No. 3 seeds pulled out the win 11-9 to take Game 3 and make their second consecutive semifinal to begin 2024.
They lost to Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns in the semis of the PPA Masters in Palm Springs, but in Phoenix they will play the winner of Anna Bright/James Ignatowich and Andrea Koop/Zane Navratil.
