Young withdraws from Red Rock with sprained ankle
DJ Young has withdrawn from competition ahead of this week’s Black Desert Resort Red Rock Open due to a sprained ankle.
The 24-year-old, who was traded from the Dallas Flash to the Bay Area Breakers in Major League Pickleball earlier this month, was slated to compete in men’s singles, men’s doubles with Eric Oncins, and mixed doubles with Chloe Igleski (who has also withdrawn from the event).
Lucky losers from qualifying will take Young’s place in the main draw in all three events.
Action kicks off from Little Valley Sports Complex on Wednesday with men’s and women’s singles, and you can find live coverage on Pickleballtv and the Pickleballtv app.
