Anna Leigh Waters turns heads at 2026 ESPYs with most stylish pickleball bag yet
When Anna Leigh Waters made her ESPY Awards debut last year as the first pro pickleball athlete to hit the red carpet, it was a defining moment for both her and the sport.
One year later, she returned to the spotlight on Wednesday night in New York City.
Waters was fully glammed up by makeup and hair stylist Natalie Rife Williams. And her outfit? Safe to say, the dress completely stole the show.
Waters turned heads in a striking white midi dress by Mac Duggal. The look featured a structured corset-style bodice and a sleek, figure-hugging silhouette, elevated by intricate floral appliqués, sequins, and shimmering embellishments that caught the light with every step.
She paired the dress with elegant heels from Stuart Weitzman, opting for soft curls and minimal jewelry to keep the focus on the outfit.
But the true showstopper? A custom clutch from Franklin Pickleball.
Designed in collaboration with Anna Leigh Waters, the one-of-a-kind purse was handcrafted with 19,400 gold glass stones. The number isn’t random. It’s a nod to her 194 career gold medals, turning a bold accessory into a personal statement piece.
It’s not just impressive attention to detail. It gives the piece real meaning.
The finished look leans unmistakably luxurious. Franklin Pickleball managed to create something artistic and elevated without tipping into anything over-the-top. A gold-and-black, logo-forward pickleball clutch could have easily felt kitschy, but this is the opposite. It reads as high fashion.
A big reason why comes down to the styling, and especially the handle. The gold metal handle wraps around Waters’ arm in a way that feels both sculptural and intentional. It’s architectural, almost like wearable art, perfectly complementing the spherical shape of the bag. It’s a design detail you don’t see every day.
After opting for a sleek black dress last year, Waters returned this time, in her mom’s words, looking “like a vision in white.”
Her mom, Leigh, was also in attendance, and true to form, pro pickleball’s most fashionable coach showed up dressed to the nines as well.
Leigh complemented the moment perfectly, wearing a boho-inspired sheer drop-waist white dress from Zimmermann, paired with heels from Roger Vivier and a gold clutch that tied in seamlessly with Anna Leigh’s look.
And after a night full of glitz and glamour, the evening ended on a refreshingly down-to-earth note. Leigh shared that the two wrapped things up with a stop at Five Guys. The image of Anna Leigh—still in full glam, dress, and pickleball clutch—sipping a soda from a to-go cup is the perfect snapshot of a night well spent.
