Pisnik shares passion for ink: 'My tattoos are an unfinished story'
Since transitioning from the professional tennis ranks, Tina Pisnik has graced the pickleball court with her remarkable talent and unique look highlighted by her tattoos.
The Slovenian star boasts a full arm sleeve and even more ink along her legs.
“I stopped counting how many I had after I got 15 tattoos,” confirmed Pisnik. “I say about one third of my body is covered in tattoos.”
Pisnik's tattoos include a beautiful lineup of words, a dragon, a lotus flower, a cross, a clock, and various nature-related symbols, which recount special moments and memories from her life.
The quote “Never forget where you come from” is even featured on the back of her right calf.
“I just really like art. I got my first tattoo when I was 15 years old, and it was a Chinese sign on my ankle. I was super innocent at that point and I thought getting a tattoo was a very savage and badass thing to do because I didn’t get my parents’ approval,” said Pisnik. “I had to keep it hidden for a while. I wore high socks back then, so I was able to hide it, but eventually they found out. My mom has kind of accepted my tattoos, but my dad is surprised every time I get another one.”
Pisnik doesn’t really plan ahead when it comes to getting tattoos.
She instead chooses to see what inspires her as time marches on.
“I like adding meaningful things in my life on my body as my tattoos, so I’ll add a new tattoo to remind me of good things, like my dogs or a good vacation – just the good parts in life,” shared Pisnik. “All my tattoos are important to me or were important to me at some point in my life that it was worth putting on my body.”
Admittedly, Pisnik doesn’t think twice about any of her ink.
She even has a “No regrets” tattoo on her forearm.
While Pisnik isn't planning on adding to her collection right now, there's certainly more to come.
“My tattoos are an unfinished story,” she concluded.
Hopefully many more special moments worth memorializing are coming Pisnik's way both on and off the court.
