Rohrabacher primed for partnership debut: 'I’m so excited to play with Catherine in Atlanta'

All eyes will be squarely focused on women’s doubles at the Veolia Atlanta Pickleball Championships next week at Life Time Peachtree Corners.

Rightfully so since a couple of notable partnerships could be heading for a highly anticipated gold-medal showdown on Championship Sunday.

The million-dollar question is: Will Catherine Parenteau and Rachel Rohrabacher’s debut culminate in a clash against their respective former partners Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright?

It's certainly shaping up that way.

Parenteau and Rohrabacher are the top-seeded tandem in Georgia by virtue of ranking points, while Waters and Bright, who've enjoyed success together in the past, are the second seed.

Unlike her more veteran counterparts, Rohrabacher is an interesting piece of the puzzle here after firmly establishing herself on the PPA Tour just last season.

"The Girlies" were perennial contenders until her split with Bright was made official in early April following the Veolia North Carolina Open.

Now that the dust has settled, though, Rohrabacher is eager to begin a new chapter in her career with another accomplished pickleball athlete in Parenteau by her side.

"I’m so excited to play with Catherine in Atlanta. She is one of the most talented athletes to have ever stepped foot on the pickleball court," said Rohrabacher. "While we have had so many incredible battles throughout the past year, she has always been a true representation of class and a model professional for all those who aspire to someday compete on the PPA Tour."

Joining forces with Parenteau comes with the added bonus of learning from one of the best coaches in the business in Athena Trouillot.

Having access to that kind of expertise and insight is simply priceless.

"My ultimate goal is to always continue to improve, compete and win at the highest levels," insisted Rohrabacher. "I am really looking forward to the experience and knowledge that both Catherine and Athena bring to the table."

This should be a treat to watch on Pickleballtv and the Pickleballtv App.

Both duos begin play in Atlanta on Wednesday, May 14 in the Round of 32.

"Now that we take the court on the same side for the first time ever, there is no better tournament to begin this partnership than the Veolia Atlanta Pickleball Championships," concluded Rohrabacher.
