Sofia Sewing joining PPA Tour in January 2027

After signing a contract with the United Pickleball Association (UPA) last month, it was confirmed on Tuesday that Sofia Sewing is officially joining the PPA Tour on January 1, 2027.

The contract made Sewing eligible to compete in Major League Pickleball (MLP) this coming season while she fulfills her obligations on the APP Tour before ultimately transitioning to the PPA Tour.

Sewing, 26, is already a member of MLP's newest franchise—the Palm Beach Royals.

This was the same structure of the contract that Will Howells signed in 2025 before he began competing full-time on the PPA Tour in 2026.

Sewing hasn’t played on the PPA Tour since 2024.
