Eric Roddy's journey to pickleball is enriched by a diverse background in tennis and a myriad of life experiences. A product of his passion for sports, he honed his skills on the collegiate tennis courts of Sewanee: The University of the South, earning recognition as a division III All-American.
Following his playing days, Roddy seamlessly transitioned into coaching, serving as the men’s head tennis coach at Swarthmore College. Additionally, he contributed his expertise as an assistant coach for the women’s tennis team at the University of Georgia while pursuing his MBA. It was during his time in Athens that Roddy first encountered pickleball, and the sport quickly captured his interest.
Upon relocating to Charlotte, NC in 2022, Roddy embraced pickleball as a regular part of his athletic routine. Beyond the court, Roddy's life is marked by a series of unique experiences. He spent a year living in A Coruña, Spain, teaching English and immersing himself in the culture, ultimately achieving fluency in Spanish.
Roddy's professional endeavors extend beyond the realm of sports, as he has made notable contributions to sports media. Notably, he served as the former editor of CBS Sports’ Dolphins Report and worked as a reporter for Pro Football Network.
As he continues to make his mark in the pickleball world, Roddy is proudly sponsored by Pro XR Pickleball, TasteCanDo Keto Krisp, and Steggy’s Henleys, embodying a commitment to excellence both on and off the court.
