Ivan Jakovljevic's journey from professional soccer to pickleball is a testament to his adaptability and passion for sports. Originally hailing from Croatia, he made the move to the United States in 2018 to pursue his soccer career. After dedicating 23 years to the pitch, Ivan decided to explore new avenues and found himself drawn to the world of pickleball.
Introduced to pickleball in 2021 while teaching tennis in Tyler, TX, Ivan quickly developed a deep love for the sport. Within a few short months, he became fully immersed, earning the title of a self-proclaimed pickleball addict. His natural talent and dedication soon led to success, with numerous victories in amateur tournaments.
In November 2021, Ivan made the decision to elevate his pickleball journey to a professional level. He began competing in professional events in 2022, showcasing his skills and making strides in the sport. Relocating from Tyler to Chandler, TX in 2023, Ivan fully committed himself to pickleball, embracing a full-time career in the sport.
Outside of pickleball, Ivan finds joy in spending time with his wife Katie, whom he met through their shared passion for the game. Their excitement is palpable as they eagerly await the arrival of their baby boy in May, marking the beginning of a new chapter filled with love, family, and continued adventures on and off the pickleball court.
