Mota Alhouni's journey from Tripoli, Libya to the competitive pickleball scene in the USA is one of determination and passion. Having started playing tennis at a young age, Mota's talent and dedication led him to pursue his education and athletic career in the United States. Competing at prestigious events like the Australian Open Juniors and ITF tournaments, Mota honed his skills and eventually earned a scholarship to Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota.
During his time at Gustavus Adolphus College, Mota excelled as a tennis player, representing his team as the number 1 singles and doubles player and earning three-time All-American honors. After graduation, he briefly transitioned to teaching tennis at Lifetime Fitness before entering the corporate world.
In early 2023, Mota's interest in pickleball was sparked when he observed people playing the sport. Encouraged by friends and family, including his brother Mo, Mota began playing pickleball recreationally and quickly developed a passion for the game. With his competitive nature driving him, Mota embraced pickleball as an opportunity to reignite his athletic career and compete at a high level.
Entering his first tournament at the Lakeville PPA in Minnesota, Mota's talent and dedication were evident as he secured victory in the 5.0 division. From there, he began to travel and compete in more tournaments, rapidly climbing the ranks to become one of the world's top players.
Mota's goal is to continue improving and striving for excellence, aiming to rank among the top 5 players in the world. With his message to fans expressing his enthusiasm and determination, Mota Alhouni is poised to make his mark on the pickleball court, showcasing his skills and competitive spirit for all to see.
