How to Navigate and Enter Scores for Team League Game Days
Keeping team league scores accurate and up to date is essential for fair standings and smooth league operations. This guide walks through a straightforward, step by step process for accessing game day matchups, entering scores, handling mistakes, and finalizing tiebreakers so your team records are correct and locked in.
Quick outline
- - Access Game Day and your team matchup
- - Open scorecards and enter match scores
- - Correct errors without canceling matches
- - Complete matches and lock standings
- - Handle tiebreakers and cumulative scoring
- - Best practices and helpful reminders
Access Game Day and find your matchup
Start by navigating to your team league and choosing Go to Game Day. That brings up the current game day and every scheduled matchup. Locate your team in the list and click Go to Matchup to open the scorecards for that specific head to head.

Opening the matchup takes you directly to the scorecards for each individual match within that team encounter. This is where you will enter results for singles, doubles, or whatever lineup your league uses.

Enter scores on the scorecard
Find the specific scorecard that requires input and click it to open the entry window. A small pop up or panel will let you type the team scores for that match. Enter the numeric result and click Save. A green trophy icon appears next to the winning team as immediate confirmation of the outcome.

If you realize an entry is incorrect after saving, simply click the same scorecard again, change the numbers as needed, and save. Most systems allow this simple edit so mistakes can be corrected quickly.
Use the retirement, forfeit, and withdrawal options when appropriate
Scorecards typically include a drop down to mark matches as retirement, forfeit, or withdrawal. Only use these when one of those conditions actually occurred. Properly flagging nonstandard results keeps league records clear and avoids confusion.
Important: do not cancel matches unless absolutely necessary
Canceling a match is different from editing scores. If you made a mistake, do not cancel the match. Instead, set the scores to zero and click Save. Cancelling a match often removes the fixture and requires intervention from a league commissioner to reinstate it.
Contacting a league commissioner to restore a canceled match creates unnecessary work and delays, so reserve the cancel option only for matches that are truly canceled and will not be played.
Complete Matches to lock scores and standings
Once all individual match scorecards for your team game day are entered and correct, the team captain or designated user should click Complete Matches. This action locks the scores and updates standings across the league so everyone sees the finalized results.

Completing matches is the final step for a standard game day with no tiebreaker. After the team clicks Complete Matches, the day's results are recorded and standings reflect the new points or wins.
Tiebreakers and cumulative scoring
When both teams end the main lineup with the same number of matches won, a tiebreaker may be required. If that happens, a link such as Go-To Tiebreaker appears after the captain completes the main matches. Click that link to open the tiebreaker scorecard.

It is important to understand how tiebreaker scoring works. Scoring is cumulative, which means you enter the running team total as the points accrue on court. Enter the team cumulative score as players rotate and points are scored, not the isolated points each player won individually.
Because players rotate every four points, the team cumulative score should reflect increments consistent with that rotation (usually multiples or derivatives of four). The tiebreaker continues until a team reaches 21 points and leads by two. In some cases the tiebreaker can extend beyond 21; for example, a tiebreaker that ends 22-20 is perfectly valid when the two point margin was required.
After the tiebreaker concludes, there will be another Complete Match button to finalize the team game day and lock the tiebreaker result into the standings.
Practical tips and best practices
- Enter scores promptly. Update the scorecard as matches finish so standings reflect true progress and captains can see what still needs to be played.
- Use the save button frequently. Saving after each edit prevents data loss and keeps the entry reversible until completion.
- Zero out instead of cancel if a score was entered in error and the match still occurred.
- Flag retirements, forfeits, and withdrawals correctly to make sure league admins can apply any special rules or adjustments.
- Confirm the green trophy icon appears for the winner after saving as a quick visual verification.
- Communicate with your captain or commissioner if you encounter a locked or canceled match that needs to be restored.
Final checklist before completing your game day
- - All individual match scores entered and saved.
- - Any retirements, forfeits, or withdrawals noted on the appropriate scorecards.
- - Tiebreaker played and cumulative scores entered correctly (if applicable).
- - Scores reviewed and confirmed by the captain or designated team contact.
- - Click Complete Matches to lock scores and update standings.
If you need a more in depth review of any step or want official policies on tiebreakers, retirements, and match reinstatements, check the associated help document for your league system. That resource contains detailed procedures, examples, and commissioner contacts to resolve unusual situations.
