Actor Jamie Foxx takes pickleball parties in Los Angeles to the next level
If anyone knows how to throw a pickleball party, it’s definitely actor, singer and comedian Jamie Foxx.
That was confirmed by journalist Susan Campos in a story published on The Hollywood Reporter’s website on Saturday entitled “Hollywood’s Most In-Demand Pickleball Game,” which detailed just how cool Foxx’s Los Angeles home really is.
“Foxx’s estate undoubtedly is one of the best paddle compounds ever built, sporting three courts on the property,” writes Campos. “And getting on the list for the Oscar-winning actor’s pickleball parties is not easy.”
Why is that the case?
Campos cited a recent party where “some 400 tan and toned Hollywood types” were treated to “influencer-led cardio classes, swimming, a taco truck, a full bar and a DJ,” so “Foxx’s game is serving up both great play and the Hollywood sport of great networking.”
It essentially sounds like heaven on earth.
And if you’re looking to expand your personal and professional circles, Foxx’s crib is undoubtedly the place to be.
Just ask producer Taylor Chien, who co-founded The Best Paddle pickleball company alongside the multi-talented Texas native.
“If you get good at pickleball, you never know who you might meet. I tell young people it’s the greatest way to network. Doors open up quickly on the pickleball courts,” he told Campos. “People are sending us DMs to get into the events. It started with 50 people and has grown to 400.”
PickleballTV broadcaster and "Pickleball Coach to the Stars" Matt Manasse is a regular at Foxx’s events.
“You never know when the Jamie Foxx pickleball party is gonna happen, but when you get the DM or texts, you know you’re in for a special treat,” he told Campos. “It’s that unassuming party that starts at 3 p.m. and the next thing you know, you’re dancing and it’s 11 p.m.”
It's well known that Foxx is a devout pickleball player.
He even turned to America's fastest-growing sport to help his recovery following a health scare that occurred in April 2023 while filming the Netflix movie “Back in Action” in Atlanta.
“He's playing a lot of pickleball! That man and pickleball; it's like he's playing twice a day every day,“ his daughter, Corinne, said on “Entertainment Tonight“ in late June. “It's a whole thing. He's fully in it.“
