Best dressed amateurs at the Lapiplasty Pickleball World Championships
While the pro are usually get all the chatter for their fashion game on the court, amateurs and spectators certainly showed up in style at the Lapiplasty® 3D Bunion Correction® Pickleball World Championships.
What’s great about pickleball fashion is that is has range. From bright and colorful patterns featuring pickleball paddles, to elevated classy tennis club chic look, the fashion for pickleball is nothing but fun and entirely personal. Here are some of the fashion highlights.
Loryn Hasnbrough
Not only did Hansbrough play 5.0 mixed with her husband, but she also played while 32 weeks pregnant. She sat courtside watching her husband play men’s dubs in the most fabulous fits. Wearing a trendy leopard print and black jacket paired with maternity leggings, bra top, black sneakers, and some chunky jewelry, Hansbrough knows how to show up in style.
Lo May
PB5 Star is really making a name for itself in the pickleball fashion thanks to sponsored pro player, Hannah Blatt. And content creator Lo May rocked a gorgeous side split skirt and fitted white tank top from PB5 Star with Nike court shoes – a sporty chic fit to feel fabulous while dinking around on Pickleball Boulevard.
Judy Gaunt
Gaunt absolutely went all out with her pickleball outfit and it’s wonderfully delightful. Of course, her fit is from Chubbies. The Backhand Winner matching set perfectly captures the playfulness and the fun of pickleball with its bright colors and 1980s vibe. Best yet, Gaunt took home the gold in this outfit in 4.0 women’s doubles. A gold medal winning look.
Jessica Jones
Jones kept it sleek and classy with her outfit when she played mixed dubs pro qualifier and pro women’s dubs main draw. In a navy ensemble, Jones wore a lululemon align high rise skirt, a CRZ Yoga high neck cropped tee shirt, and topped off with Skechers court frenzy shoes that are seriously as cute as they are functional.
Pickleball Santa
Christmas came early on Pickleball Boulevard when Pickleball Santa arrived in a full Santa Claus suit. And this was no average Santa suit. This was a fine coat with embroidered detailing and fur trim, that he paired with red pants, black leather boots, a wool vest, button down shirt, and of course a matching Santa hat. With how much Santa loves pickleball, hopefully that means we’ll all be getting a new pickleball paddle underneath the tree.
Rex Thais
From the Junior PPA, Thais rocked this bold patterned pink fit. And it’s become his go-to tournament style. Wearing pink camo arm sleeves, an addict pickleball button down, pink sorts, pink high socks, and a hat, Thais certainly knows how to stand out on the court.
Pickleball Pup
And finally, we can’t talk about the fashion at Worlds without mentioning the goldendoodle named Buddy and his dad, Lance VanHemel who rocked matching shirts during the whole tournament. They wore Dallas Flash gear during MLP Dallas and different groovy polo the rest of the week. These two even had matching sunglasses. Utterly delightful.
