Rebecca Jasmine’s 'A Pickleball Girl's Second Chance Christmas' brings holiday cheer
If you’re a pickleball player craving a break from the holiday hustle, curl up with a cozy, quick read you can finish in about two hours: A Pickleball Girls’ Second Chance Christmas by Rebecca Jasmine.
“It’s based in this fictional country club in Palm Springs called Whisper Hills Country Club. The main character is a young woman in her 20s who is a social media influencer living in LA, and she has just gone through a devastatingly humiliating breakup with her boyfriend,” said Jasmine. “So she flees back to Whisper Hills where she hasn’t been in 10 years, and she runs into a man named Charlie who broke her heart when they were 18.”
After they reconnect, Charlie’s lovable yellow lab disappears on Christmas Eve, sending the pair on a holiday search for the mischievous pup.

This is the second book in the Whisper Hills Country Club series, but it can be enjoyed as a standalone holiday romance—no need to read The Pickleball Girl Finds Her Match first.
“I wrote a quick little read because people are so busy during the holidays, and I wanted something for readers after they put their kids to bed or they’re at the airport waiting to board,” explained Jasmine. “They can literally knock out a book because it only takes two hours to read.”
Better yet, it’s the perfect binge-read to help you hit your Goodreads reading goal before the new year.
While many holiday romances are set in cozy log cabins, Jasmine drew inspiration from her California country club—coincidentally the same club that hosts the annual PPA Masters.
“Living in a warm climate, it’s kind of unusual for Christmas stories to take place there. All the other Christmas stories are about snow, hot chocolate, and fireplaces, but this takes place in Palm Springs. I think it adds a fun element to the story that’s unexpected,” said Jasmine. “I love going to the Masters Tournament. Last year, I actually got to chat with Hurricane Tyra Black, and I sent her a copy of my book before it was even published.”
While Jasmine loved watching top players like Black and Anna Leigh Waters in action, the experience also sparked inspiration for book two, slated for release in May 2026.
Jasmine’s pickleball romances are also closed-door, with no explicit content on the page, yet they still deliver plenty of swoon-worthy moments.
“None of my writing is spicy at all because I like to write heartfelt romances, kind of like Nora Ephron movies. They’re dreamy romances, rather than rom-coms because I like to write main characters that people can identify with because they’re more realistic,” shared Jasmine. “I like to write romances that are more about two people connecting and building a relationship through little moments of romance.”
So settle in and fall in love with this pickleball holiday novella.
