Dancing with the Stars winners perform tennis freestyle dance in finale
There's nothing I love more than seeing a racket sport glamorized by Hollywood.
In the season finale of Dancing with the Stars, the show certainly delivered with cha-chas, tangos, and fabulous freestyle numbers.
One dance, in particular, caught my attention. Joey Graziadei from The Bachelor and professional dancer Jenna Johnson performed a tennis-themed freestyle number that ultimately earned them the Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy.
Graziadei and Johnson’s outfits were essentially country club bedazzled perfection that I want to add to my pickleball wardrobe immediately.
A former tennis player and tennis coach, Graziadei paid tribute to the sport with this upbeat number.
While this is an homage to tennis, I think we need to see these two on the pickleball court. Especially in these outfits. Johnson’s character heels, however, would make the What Not to Wear list for pickleball, but the rest of her sparkly outfit is chic: a white pleated tennis skirt with an emerald green waistline.
There's a matching cropped V-neck top with a collar, topped off with green sweatbands and a bucket load of sparkles. I'm obsessed.
Graziadei’s apparel is just as lovely. A white polo with green cuffs and pleated sparkly pants that mimic pinstripes. It's utterly delightful.
Upgrade to pickleball footwear and they would certainly make the Best Dressed List.
I'm just curious, why aren’t there more sparkles in pickleball fashion? What is the issue here? Is it because they glisten in the sun and could be too distracting or temporarily blind your opponent? Maybe that’s a good strategy. Fashion as a strategic weapon. Well, it was a success on the ballroom floor.
The dance really delivered when the lights dimmed and they brought out old school wooden rackets with glow in the dark lights as they incorporated tennis moves into their performance. It was a pretty impressive combination of racket sports and ballroom dancing... all while looking like champions.
There's nothing more enjoyable than seeing a racket sport get some love in the competition reality show world, and it's even better when they look good playing it.
I've heard the Brascia sisters love competition reality shows, too.
Let’s sign them up!
