DALLAS, TX - Tennis star Nick Kyrgios was in South Florida last week for a Miami Pickleball Club (MPC) event held in conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach, North America's most comprehensive international contemporary art fair.

The 28-year-old Australian, who is one of MPC's owners, reiterated his love for America's fastest-growing sport in a brief Instagram video recap published by Major League Pickleball this past Friday, indicating that he could see himself picking up a paddle someday.

"It’s definitely something that I’d look forward to playing in the future, for sure. It’s exciting," noted Kyrgios. "You've got true good players there. I would play in the future, for sure. Definitely."

Kyrgios' trademark intensity, competitiveness, and skill would obviously be an outstanding addition to the pickleball scene.

His former tennis colleague, Jack Sock, is set to officially become a full-time pickleball athlete on the PPA Tour in the new year and just announced a mixed doubles partnership with World No. 2 Catherine Parenteau.

Names like Genie Bouchard, Sam Querrey, and Donald Young will play on the PPA Tour in 2024 as well.

As mentioned, this isn't the first time Kyrgios has voiced his appreciation for pickleball.

Back in July, he spoke candidly at CNBC x Boardroom’s Game Plan event.

"To be honest, I love it. At the end of the day, it’s getting more people active. I think tennis has that zone from like 18 to 35 where that’s all you can play ’til, where pickleball you can start earlier. I know people that are over 50 that love playing pickleball. It’s good," said Kyrgios. "It’s just generally getting more people active and playing. I’m turning on ESPN and I’m watching it on there. It’s growing. It’s amazing."

The seven-time ATP singles winner has also previously stated that jumping on board with MPC is "one of his best investments so far" given just how rapidly the game is developing both in the United States and abroad.

MPC’s roster this past season included an impressive roster with Federico Staksrud, Tyson McGuffin, Hurricane Tyra Black and Mary Brascia.
