Pickleball-themed nuptials are this year's favorite wedding trend

DALLAS, TX – "Going to the chapel... And we’re gonna play pickleball."

There's a new trend this wedding season, and no, it’s not sage green and champagne towers. It’s creatively blending the act of tying the knot with America's fastest-growing sport together.

With every new couple getting hitched, I’m seeing pickleball elements incorporated into their big day. From brides in white tennis dresses celebrating on the court during their bachelorette weekend to wedding parties dinking after the ceremony, pickleball is at the heart of more and more couples’ love stories.

And they’re making it look good.

Unfortunately, pickleball may sometimes have an aesthetic that isn't necessarily cocktail or black-tie worthy. There's neon, bright green, and pickle puns.

And let’s be frank, weddings are usually formal affairs.

Who would’ve thought that pickleball could look so elevated and high-class that it could fit seamlessly into a wedding? I certainly didn’t, I absolutely love it.

I'm at that age where wedding content just floods my feed, and now that the algorithm knows I love pickleball, it’s giving me all my heart desires.

People are finding love on the pickleball court and celebrating it on their big day.

Here are some of my favorite examples:

Pickleball Proposal

Some lovebirds have popped the question on the pickleball court.

Whether they met on the court or pickleball has been a bonding activity, a pickleball proposal is the perfect way to start their lives together. This couple even got engaged at the Hertz Gold Cup at Pictona.

Bachelor/Bachelorette Party Pickleball

Bachelorette parties are growing increasingly extravagant. What was once a casual dinner or day trip to the spa, has turned into jam-packed vacations that perhaps all of our pocketbooks are screaming over.

Now, pickleball is making the list. The bride-to-be wears a cute white tennis dress while all her bridesmaids wear black when they play a bachelorette tournament. Just don’t forget a Future Mrs. custom paddle for maximum fun. Count me in, I love this idea!

Wedding Day Pickleball

It isn't uncommon for the groom and his groomsmen to play golf, go fishing, or even go to the barber before they walk down the aisle. Pickleball, however, is a new activity commonly added to the list. Not only do the photos turn out really fun, it’s a great way to blow off some steam before vows are exchanged.

Other couples incorporate pickleball into their reception. From the venue setting up a pickleball court for guests to dink and dance, to this couple who chose to substitute their first dance for a pickleball game, people are putting their own spin on pickleball for their big day.

Pickleball Wedding Photos

I can't believe the amount of wedding day photos of the newlyweds who had their photoshoot on a pickleball court. And with the right lighting and background, these sessions are just as amazing as any other wedding day photoshoot.

Never has a pickleball court looked so romantic.

Botton line, it’s the couple's big day. If they want to incorporate pickleball into their vows or take the wedding party out to the court for an afterparty, it’s their choice. And if pickleball is involved, even better. I can’t think of a better way to embark on this new chapter – on court with friends, family, and the newlyweds.
