Renowned cardiologist challenges actor Ben Stiller to fundraising pickleball match in Canada

St. Michael’s Hospital’s Head of Cardiology, Dr. Kim Connelly, has serious acting chops.

The renowned physician and scientist recently delivered a noteworthy performance in a commercial where he challenged actor Ben Stiller to a pickleball showdown in conjunction with the St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation's upcoming Paddle Royale fundraiser on March 29 in Mississauga, ON.

Stiller, of course, has produced the highly-anticipated pickleball comedy movie 'The Dink' that will be released later this year, which made him a perfect candidate to go head-to-head with Connelly on the court for a good cause.

The clip starring Connelly hard at work in an operating room will undoubtedly make you giggle.

"I've performed hundreds of heart procedures. Developed a life-saving drug. And spent more than a decade in medical school. Taken on some of the toughest health challengesof our time. But there's one thing yet to achieve. One person who makes my heart rate spike. Ben Stiller," said Connelly to begin the video. "Ben, I hear you're filming a pickleball movie. Got what it takes to play the head of sports cardiology at St. Michael's Hospital? Someone who works with sub-millimeter precision."

It remains to be seen if Stiller will accept the challenge.

The St. Michael’s Foundation drives life-saving research breakthroughs, provides state-of-the-art facilities, champions equitable care, and funds solutions to some of the world’s toughest health challenges.
