Review: Best dressed at PPA Masters
DALLAS, TX – Now that we have our champions from the season-opener on the PPA Tour, it’s time to discuss which pros stood out from the pack fashion-wise.
The PPA Masters is unique because it’s the only tournament of the year that has a mandated dress code: players must wear all white.
The policy creates a clean aesthetic and sets everyone off on a level playing field to begin a new pickleball season.
The PPA Masters is one of my favorites for fashion because everyone is given the same guidelines in terms color, but how they choose to showcase thier individual style from there is entirely up to them.
Here’s my list of the best dressed at the PPA Masters:
Padegimaite looked sporty chic in an adorable all-white ensemble with black stripes on the neckline and hems. This athletic fit reminds me of the classic racket sport style we see come back every year with the pleated skirt... and it is perfect every time.
Stratman completely caught me by surprise. Sporting a classic white tennis dress ensemble and PPA merch, I thought it was perfect. Then, she turned around to reveal this fun cut out in the back and I was sold. Add her to the best dressed list immediately. It showcases the concept of “business in the front, party in the back” in the best possible way.
Genie Bouchard
Bouchard is no stranger to court fashion. The PPA Masters marked her pro pickleball debut, and while she might not have claimed victory on the court, she looked like a queen. Clad in New Balance gear, Bouchard was elegant and put-together. She’s a player to keep an eye on for the latest in pickleball fashion in 2024.
Smith is always one of my fashion favorites because I love to see her iconic Rapunzel braid woven with a bright colored ribbon. Smith chose a white ribbon for the season-opener, of course. Paired with a simple tank, baseball hat, and three-tiered skirt, Smith was dressed to the nines alongside doubles partner, Lucy Kovalova.
Walker is serving up looks in this classic pleated tennis skirt and fitted tank top combo, but what really stands out is actually her paddle. I think the pros need more eye-catching paddles because this light blue Proton is seriously gorgeous. Paired with the all-white look, it is clean style in every way.
Though this isn’t explicitly about Devillier’s clothing, it is about his overall look. Devilliers shocked his fellow competitors when he arrived at Mission Hills rocking a new mustache. There was even a poll on PPA Tour Instagram asking fans to vote on whether or not the Frenchman should keep the facial hair. While a mustache can be difficult to pull off for some face shapes, I think it’s working for Devilliers. Keep the 'stache!
Honorable Mentions:
There’s something about an all-white look as an excellent contrast against the dark tattoos that’s really working for 'The Most Electrifying Man in Sports.'
The perfectly coordinated all-white FILA ensemble makes the World No. 1 look like a true champion.
