Anna Leigh Waters debuts custom nails for Carvana PPA Masters
A great pickleball outfit is all about head-to-toe cohesion, and for World No. 1 Anna Leigh Waters, that attention to detail extended all the way to her nails.
Waters received a stunning custom manicure from Alexis Uribe, a manicurist at Sekado Salon in La Quinta, CA.
Uribe later shared how she connected with the American superstar.
“Anna Leigh had posted on her Instagram story that she was looking for a detail-oriented nail technician in the Coachella Valley,” began Uribe.

A local friend and fellow business owner who follows Waters sent Uribe the inquiry after seeing the story, confident she was the perfect person for the job.
“I responded expressing interest in having her come into the salon,” she explained.
And things quickly fell into place.
Waters debuted white nails with black French tips, elevated by custom details that reflect her achievements on the court. Her pointer finger features a Nike swoosh to mark her status as a Nike athlete, while her ring finger showcases the ALW logo.
Her thumb includes a crown symbolizing her Triple Crown success, along with a black pickleball and a swirling “family” design. The look is unmistakably Waters—clean, refined, and perfectly suited for the Carvana PPA Masters, complementing the tournament’s all-white dress code and sleek aesthetic.
As Uribe created the custom set, she also enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Waters, making the experience as meaningful as the finished product.
“Doing her nails was fun, easygoing, and a great challenge. I loved getting to know a little of her journey and bringing her personal logo to life,” mentioned Uribe. “She and her mom were so kind and complimentary.”
Although Uribe wasn’t familiar with professional pickleball, getting to know the sport’s greatest athlete was a true treat for her.
“Learning about Anna Leigh and her journey has been incredibly inspiring,” she praised. “Her work ethic and accomplishments at such a young age deserves real admiration.”
Uribe has created countless exquisite nail designs, but Waters’ set stands out as one of her most memorable. She’s even been following Waters’ progress throughout the tournament, a clear sign that the experience turned her into a fan.
Waters has sported plenty of fun manicures throughout her career. If you’ve ever wondered how she—and other pros—manage to compete with long nails, read more here.
