Best dressed at the Veolia Texas Open presented by Proton
The pro pickleball athletes showed up dressed for success for the Veolia Texas Open presented by Proton. And I couldn’t help but notice a bit of a trend on court with several of the pros wearing some soft greens and pastel pinks as we head into the springtime.
So, here’s the best dressed list from the Lone Star State.
The women’s doubles silver medalists Todd and Truong looked pretty in pink in these pastel corset dresses from alo. The baby pink color is so soft and feminine and perfect for the spring season. I also love the corset detail on the top that’s so flattering on the girls. This partnership just looks so lovely.
Daescu has traditionally worn bold prints and vibrant colors, but this sleek gray t-shirt from Mizuno has a subtle pattern that is such a welcome change for this dominant pro. He paired it with all white accessories, shoes to make an incredibly clean look. I also don’t mind the white shorts with a pop of yellow pattern. I think it adds a little bit more visual interest, without being over the top. This marks Daescu’s first time on the best dressed list, so welcome to the fashionable club Daescu.
The youngster showed up in style at the Veolia Texas Open. Shimabukuro wore a matching set from Selkirk and paired his light green look with white Ascis court shoes that have a pop of green and pink on the soles. And then he topped everything off with a brown hat. If these are the kind of cool fashion looks we’ll continue to see from this new pro, we’re in for a treat.
Blatt always shows up to every tournament looking so fabulous. In Texas, Blatt wore head to toe PB5Star. The white side slit skirt paired with the white collared top is so flattering. And styled with this gorgeous ombre blue court shoe to add a pop of color. The whole look is so sporty chic.
Dunlap wore this fabulous bright pink dress to play in Texas. With long sleeves, an open back, flare skirt, this dress is as fashionable as it was functional for high level play (here’s a lookalike). Additionally, Dunlap styled her dress with a white hat, white tennis shoes, and white socks. Too cute. This also marked Dunlap’s first time on the best dressed list, we’re happy to have you.
Christian’s fashion just continues to charm me every time she debuts a new outfit from Mizuno. This pink dress is just incredibly unique. I love the red v-neck with the color blocked waist that is so visually interesting and so fun on the court. And then the subtle pattern on half the skirt is so playful, yet subtle. And styled with white accessories, this look is such a win.
Partner coordination really is everything. And while a head-to-toe matchy-matchy moment can be fun, I love to see player’s individual styles if they decide to coordinate their fits. And this white and mint green color pallet is a win for this partnership. Rane wore a long sleeve fitted white top, green skirt, white shoes, and Humberg wore an Adidas green tank, and flowy white textured skirt (here’s a lookalike). When a team looks this good, you know they’re going to play well.
I’m loving to see Waters really expand her styles, silhouettes, and colors on the pro pickleball tour thanks to her Nike deal. And this fitted Nike light pink dress is so sleek and pretty on the World No. 1. It’s just a perfect color for spring. And styled with black and white Nike court shoes, Waters continues to elevate the fashion game in pickleball.
