Quang Duong parts ways with Selkirk, signs with Vietnamese paddle brand Sypik

Nineteen-year-old Quang Duong has signed with Vietnamese paddle brand Sypik.

The move comes after announcing on Wednesday that he was departing Selkirk.

"Thank you Selkirk for the support last 2 years. I was able to bring Selkirk around the world," wrote Duong via Instagram. "From USA to Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Ha Long Bay, Mumbai and many other Asian countries. Let #pickleball continue to grow global. Thank you."

Sypik, meanwhile, made the Duong signing official on Thursday.

The company was ecstatic to add the uber talented Vietnamese-American to its roster.

Duong is currently ranked seventh in men's singles on the PPA Tour.

"A historic handshake between a world-class Vietnamese athlete and a rising Vietnamese paddle brand shaking the global stage," wrote Sypik via Instagram. "Vietnamese pride when Vietnamese people affirm their class on the world pickleball map. Reaching international level, bringing Vietnamese aspirations to the world!"

Duong wasn't the only notable player to reveal a paddle switch this week.

Tina Pisnik transitioned from ProXR to Warping Point, while Dylan Frazier left Selkirk for Volair.

"With her elite experience and passion for the game, Tina joins us as we take Warping Point to next dimension," wrote Warping Point via Instagram. "Let’s reshape the future of pickleball together!"

"One of the top players in the world is joining forces with us—not just to play, but to help build. Dylan will be deep in the development process, testing and shaping the next generation of pro-level paddles," wrote Volair via Instagram. "Things are about to get real fun. We’re beyond hyped to have him in the lab and on the court with us."
