It was confirmed on Monday that the sports comedy was officially acquired by Apple Original Films.

The film features a star-studded cast, including Jake Johnson, Ben Stiller, Mary Steenburgen, Ed Harris, Chloe Fineman, Aaron Chen, Patton Oswalt, Chris Parnell and Christine Taylor.

Tennis legends Andy Roddick and John McEnroe play key supporting roles as well.

According to an Aug. 18 story in Variety, "Johnson plays a washed-up tennis pro who, desperate to save a struggling club and earn his father’s respect, is compelled to break a sacred vow and do the unthinkable: play pickleball."

An image of Johnson featured in the Variety story reveals that, in the movie, his character serves as President of Pickeball Operations at Mountain Crest Tennis Club.

"Excited to partner with @appletv on this one," wrote Johnson on Instagram. "I love the movie. It's a ton of fun. So many funny performances."

The film was directed by Josh Greenbaum and written by Sean Clements.

A release date has yet to be announced.
