Most of the pickleball people play isn't in tournaments. It's the Tuesday night group, the Saturday round robin at the park, or the league night with the same eight people. Those games are real competition, and for a lot of players they make up most of the matches they play all year. If those results aren't going to DUPR, your rating is only seeing a small part of how you play, and it may be lower than it should be.

Give your rating a chance to catch up

DUPR builds your rating from match results, so the more results it has, the better it can place you. If the only matches on your profile are a couple of tournaments a year, your rating is working from a small sample. A tough day at one event can hang around longer than it should.

That's why a lot of players feel their rating is lower than their actual level. Maybe you've improved since your last tournament, or you mostly play in rec games that never get reported. Adding your weekly matches gives DUPR a fuller picture of how you play now. There's no guarantee your rating goes up, since wins and losses both count and results can move it either way. But if you've been playing better than your number shows, regular reported matches give it a real chance to reflect that.

An accurate rating helps the people you play with too. When everyone in your group has a rating that matches how they play, it's easier to set up balanced games, find new players at your level, and join public games with a better idea of what to expect. Game Maker shows DUPR ratings on player cards and in player search, so your rating is useful across the whole app.

Two ways to report, same result

When you set up organized play in Game Maker, you'll see DUPR Rating Session as an option next to Round Robin & Scramble and King of the Court. You can also run a Round Robin or Scramble and report those scores to DUPR.

How your matches show up in DUPR

Scores submitted through Game Maker are reported to DUPR as club/partner matches. They're tied to Game Maker's club ID and marked as partner-submitted, which is different from entering a score yourself in the DUPR app. DUPR handles how each type of match factors into your rating.

No DUPR account? You'll get one

You don't need a DUPR account before you play. If you have a Pickleball.com account, which is what you use to sign in to Game Maker, a DUPR account will be created for you automatically when your matches are submitted. DUPR will send you an invite to claim it. If you've never had a rating, your rec games can be where it starts.

There's one thing to keep in mind. Every player in a match needs to be a real Pickleball.com user for that match to be reported. Guests and virtual players (the placeholders you can add to test a format or fill a spot) can't be submitted to DUPR. If you want a match to count, make sure everyone on the court has an account. How to report your Game Maker scores to DUPR

1. Create your game and invite players. Invite people through their Pickleball.com accounts, your friends list, or a private group, rather than adding virtual players.
2. Tap Create organized play on your game's page.
3. Choose your bracket type. Pick DUPR Rating Session, or Round Robin & Scramble.
4. Set your format. Choose singles or doubles, whether partners rotate every match (Scramble) or stay together, and your score format, like 1 to 11 by 2. If you're running a Round Robin or Scramble, turn on Count in DUPR ratings.
5. Play and enter scores. You can enter them yourself, or turn on "Allow players in the pool/court to enter their own scores" so each court can log its own results.
6. Tap Complete all matches when you're done.
