Packing for a pickleball tournament: What's in my suitcase?
It's time to pack for another professional pickleball tournament.
I'm heading to the CIBC Atlanta Slam presented by Vizzy at Life Time Peachtree Corners.
Whether you’re an amateur player or a spectator, there are some important items you should always bring along.
Comfortable shoes
These are key. Everything hinges on comfortable sneakers. If you’re simply exploring the venue or tracking Anna Leigh Waters as she competes in different disciplines on any given day, there’s a lot of walking involved.
I’m packing my favorite white shoes that make me feel like I’m walking on clouds. And I'm packing the same pair in black, too.
Tennis dress
It’s no secret that I’m the biggest fan of little black tennis dresses because they're absolutely perfect for any tournament. LBDs are flattering and comfortable, and it takes zero effort to put an outfit together in the morning. Just throw it on with your favorite shoes and off you go!
I’m throwing in two black ones and a blue one. And yes, they’re all the same brand. I firmly believe that if you like a specific LBD, buy one in every color that works for you.
Leggings
The weather forecast in Atlanta is a little all over the place. With lows of 63°F and highs of 85°F, I’m prepared for anything.
Under the circumstances, a few pairs of reliable black leggings should do the trick.
Fitted workout tops
Like with everything else I’m packing, comfort is paramount. Tournaments are busy, so I’m packing tops that are breathable, flattering, and easy to pair with everything. Short sleeves, tank tops, and a long sleeve option are all going into my suitcase for variety.
Jacket or sweatshirt
Since the forecast is showing morning temperatures in the low 60s (which is a bit chilly for me as a Florida native), I’m throwing in a green Heritage Pickleball sweatshirt.
A hat
A hat is a necessity. Whether I need sun protection or it’s a hair wash day, a good cap is a must. Bonus points if it’s pickleball-related. After all, we’re going to a pickleball tournament. Might as well look the part.
I’m bringing my white PPA hat that matches my color scheme.
I’m also adding in some socks, sunglasses, and my pickleball paddle in case I get some court time after all the action is over.
Time to fly to Atlanta!
