3 things to watch for on Tuesday at PPA Utah

Main draw competition at the Greater Zion Cup at Black Desert Resort begins Tuesday with early-round action in all five pro events.

Here is the order of play:

Now, let’s get into what to watch for.

  • The men’s singles draw was shaken up by Roscoe Bellamy’s withdrawal from this tournament due to a hip injury. As a result, Matthew Fisher, who fell in the final round of Monday’s qualifying draw, will take Bellamy’s spot as the No. 6 seed. Fisher will look to build on his good fortune on Tuesday when he faces either No. 57 seed Caden Nemoff or No. 71 seed John Thorn in the Round of 64.

  • In mixed doubles, former New York Hustlers teammates Lea Jansen/Jack Sock are teaming up for the first time since 2024. Jansen/Sock have made the quarterfinals in all three PPA Tour events they have played together, so the No. 19 seeds will be looking to make another deep un this week in the Beehive State as they kick off their campaign against No. 44 seeds Nicole Conard/Will MacKinnon.

  • And in men’s doubles, Len Yang/Collin Johns are teaming up after a volatile start to their partnership. In their first tournament together earlier this month in Newport Beach, they made a run to the semifinals that was marked by a stunning upset win over JW Johnson/CJ Klinger. In Texas the very next week, they fell in the Round of 64. The No. 15 seeds will face No. 49 seeds Ethan Bakalinsky/Eddy Kim on Tuesday as they attempt to get back to their winning ways in Utah.

Live broadcast coverage from Black Desert will be available starting at 10:30am ET.
