Agassi, Gimelstob attend Las Vegas Pickleball Cup
There were a couple of familiar faces in the crowd at the PPA Tour's Las Vegas Pickleball Cup on Thursday.
Former American tennis stars Andre Agassi and Justin Gimelstob were in attendance to watch their good buddy Jack Sock compete in Round of 16 men's doubles action alongside Collin Shick, against Dekel Bar and Zane Navratil.
It's safe to say that Agassi enjoyed seeing Sock battle on the 20x44, even if Bar and Navratil ultimately emerged victorious in straight games.
During the post-match interview, Navratil was asked about facing powerful forehands throughout the contest from Sock and Shick alike, and he had a little fun with the reply.
"Obviously, they were both just very good tennis players. Dekel was a great tennis player. Andre Agassi and Justin Gimelstob were great tennis players. I'm just very, very thankful we were playing pickleball and not tennis, because I did not belong on that court if that was the case," he said with a laugh.
Bar, meanwhile, was asked to comment on the relationship between tennis and pickleball these days.
"We see they are co-existing. Of course we have the resistance from tennis a little bit, but there's room for both. I don't see an issue," he explained.
