Boyer downs Duong to make Quarters
LAKEVILLE, MN - The run continues for Dustin Boyer in Minnesota. The No. 41 seed beat No. 8 seed Quang Duong 11-7, 11-6 to clinch his second consecutive win over a top ten seed.
The Minnesota native credits his success to the work he’s done to increase his serve depth and his training with fellow pro Tina Pisnik on his dinks and short game.
Now into the quarterfinals after his third win of the day, Boyer is focused on keeping his gameplan as simple as possible going forward.
“I’m just gonna try and hit deep returns, big serves, and see how it all goes down,” he said.
He’ll next take on No. 1 seed Federico Staksrud.
