Buckner enjoying successful return, defeats Brascia in quarters at PPA Masters
PALM SPRINGS, CA – Eighth-seeded Brooke Buckner punched her ticket to the semi-finals in women's singles on Friday at The Masters with an impressive 11-3, 11-6 victory over fourth-seeded Mary Brascia.
Buckner's run is especially notable because she hadn't competed in a professional tournament since September 2023 when she was still pregnant with her third child.
The Buckners welcomed a baby girl, Margo Ann, on November 14.
Motherhood looks good on Buckner. When she isn't playing in Palm Springs, she can be seen pushing a stroller around the venue with her bundle of joy in tow.
Buckner previously defeated 11th-seeded Jorja Johnson in the Round of 16 on Thursday.
The road for Buckner doesn't get any easier moving forward.
A matchup with second-seeded Catherine Parenteau awaits in the semis.
Top seed Anna Leigh Waters and third-seeded Lea Jansen will meet in the other semi-final.
