Christian battles past Bouchard for 4th career PPA Tour title
Kaitlyn Christian secured her first singles title of 2026—and fourth of her career—with a 13-15, 11-6, 11-2 victory over No. 7 seed Genie Bouchard in the women’s singles final.
The No. 2 seed had three chances to close out a marathon opening game before eventually losing, but she didn’t let that stop her from regrouping as she went on to comfortably take Games 2 and 3 for the gold.
Like in the mixed doubles final earlier Sunday afternoon, the windy conditions made it difficult for players to get into a rhythm on Humana Championship Court.
Despite those challenges, Christian was able to pull through for her first title since the Las Vegas Open in August of 2025.
“It was tough conditions today, super windy. I definitely don’t think either of us played our best. I felt like I struggled lot this week, but I thought the crowd really brought the energy,” she said of the performance. “Happy to get a fourth gold. I haven’t gotten one in a while, so this one means a lot to me.”
In the bronze medal match, No. 4 seed Lea Jansen defeated No. 5 seed Catherine Parenteau by a 12-10, 8-11, 11-3 score line to earn her second consecutive podium finish in singles.
