Game 3 rally propels Brascia sisters into quarterfinals
ST. GEORGE, UT - Things weren’t looking good for Mary and Maggie Brascia early in Game 3 of their Round of 16 match against Alix Truong and Vivian Glozman.
The No. 5 seeds found themselves trailing 0-6 when the teams switched sides midway through the deciding game, but a furious run helped them score 11 of the match’s final twelve points to come away with a 12-14, 11-9, 11-7 victory.
“It was just a great match all the way through with so many ups and downs, but that’s pickleball,” Brascia said of the match. “We were able to stay strong through the tough moments, and I’m really proud of us for getting that one done.”
The sisters will take on No. 1 seeds Anna Bright and Callie Smith in the quarterfinals.
