Garnett, Bellamy advance to men’s doubles final as first-time partners

Connor Garnett and Roscoe Bellamy closed out Saturday’s action at Life Time Peachtree Corners with an 11-8, 0-11, 11-6 victory over No. 19 seeds Tama Shimabukuro/Yuta Funemizu to advance to the men’s doubles final in the Peach State.

Both teams had upset top-4 seeds earlier in the week and were looking to make their first Carvana Championship Sunday appearances in doubles, but it was Garnett/Bellamy who emerged victoriously despite getting pickled in Game 2 to make the gold medal match in their first tournament together.

Garnett gave some insight into how he and Bellamy were able to reset after a tough second game.

“All the support we had from everyone was amazing, and when you have Roscoe out there fighting so hard, it just helps me get back locked in,” he mentioned. “Credit to [Shimabukuro and Funemizu]. They came out and just destroyed us in that [second] game, so we were just like ‘We need to get one point.’ That was our goal at the start of Game 3, and then from there we were able to build a little bit of momentum.”

Bellamy, who is now into his first career doubles final on the PPA Tour, credited Garnett with making things easy in their first event together.

“The guy’s an absolute stud, such a good person, so fun to play with, and so freaking insanely talented. He just makes it so easy to play, so that’s really been the key to our success.”

Top seeds Ben Johns/Gabe Tardio, who have yet to lose in 2026, await in Sunday’s final.
