How to bet on the Lapiplasty 3D Bunion Correction Pickleball World Championships

The Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour, founded in 2018, is the premier professional league for pickleball, attracting top players from around the world.

As the sport's popularity has surged, the PPA has expanded, now hosting major tournaments nationwide and boasting partnerships with prominent sponsors.

In August 2023, the PPA introduced sports betting to its events, allowing fans to place wagers on matches as part of a growing trend of gamification in sports. This integration has not only increased fan engagement but also positioned pickleball as a modern sport with mainstream appeal.

Here is the latest update on the current landscape of sports betting for PPA Tour events ahead of the Lapiplasty 3D Bunion Correction Pickleball World Championships, which will be held at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, TX starting on Monday, November 4.

Sports Betting Overview:

Among other bet options, here are some of the most frequently seen options when betting on pickleball.

  • Single Game Odds: Predict the outcome of individual matches.Typically offered with moneyline odds. Moneyline straight bets are the easiest and most popular betting options you can make, picking which team/individual you believe will win straight up.

  • Game Over/Unders: Bet on whether the total points scored in a game or match will be over or under a specified number.

  • Point Spread: Wager on the margin of victory, predicting how much one player or team will win or lose by. For pickleball, this is for the entire match which can last either two or three games.

Where You Can Bet:

Sports betting for PPA Tour events is currently available in 11 states across the United States: Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Wyoming

Further states have either submitted applications for - or are pending approval for - sports wagering on PPA Tour events.

Partnered Sportsbooks:

“Fanatics Sportsbook has been a pivotal partner with the Carvana PPA Tour, embracing sports betting from the start,” said Justin Mader, the PPA Tour’s Gambling Operations Manager. “Their support, particularly as the title sponsor of the North Carolina Cup, highlights their commitment to our sport’s growth. We are truly grateful for this partnership.”

Several other sportsbooks, including DraftKings, Hard Rock, and FanDuel, have periodically offered PPA Tour wagering options throughout the 2024 season. Be sure to check their sites regularly for opportunities as they are available. If your favorite sportsbook does not currently offer PPA Tour wagering, reach out to customer service for more information to advocate for pickleball to be offered on the platform.

Betting Responsibly:

Responsible betting is crucial for sports bettors to enjoy the activity without adverse consequences. By following these key pillars — education, setting limits, managing emotions, and knowing when to take a break — bettors can make informed decisions and keep their betting experience positive and sustainable.

Educate yourself

Understanding the basics of odds, probabilities, and betting types can significantly improve your betting decisions. Stay informed about both the game and responsible betting practices to avoid costly mistakes and enhance your overall experience.

Set limits and stick to them

Establish a budget and time limit for each betting session to ensure you’re only betting what you can afford to lose. Having these boundaries helps you maintain control, making betting an enjoyable, sustainable activity.

Be mindful of emotions

Avoid betting based on feelings or impulses, especially after a win or loss. Staying objective and keeping emotions in check helps you make more rational decisions and prevents chasing losses.

Know when to take a break

Recognize signs that you may need a break, whether it’s increased stress, overspending, or loss of enjoyment. Taking regular breaks and, if needed, using self-exclusion options can help you keep betting healthy and fun.
