Will Howells withdraws from PPA Minnesota with ankle injury
Will Howells’ time competing at this week’s Pickleball Central Indoor National Championships was cut short on Tuesday after he suffered an ankle injury.
Howells suffered the affliction during the first game of his Round of 64 men’s singles match against Cason Campbell and was forced to retire with a 9-5 lead before also withdrawing from the mixed doubles and men’s doubles competitions, where he was set to play with Rachel Rohrabacher and Noe Khlif, respectively.
Bummed to have to pull out of Minnesota @PPAtour - sprained my ankle in the first game of singles. Still can’t put any weight on it but hoping it’s nothing too serious🙏

As a result of the withdrawal, No. 51 seeds Victoria Simon/Mota Alhouni will advance to the mixed doubles Round of 32, where they will face No. 17 seeds Mari Humberg/Augie Ge on Wednesday.
Howells will look to get back to full strength before the Veolia Cape Coral Open, which will run from Feb. 9-15.
