Pisnik, Bar rally to make second final in two weeks
ATASCOCITA, TX - For the second time in two weeks, Tina Pisnik and Dekel Bar will compete for mixed doubles gold.
They took down No. 4 seeds Jessie Irvine and Pablo Tellez 8-11, 11-6, 11-4 to secure their fourth three-game victory of the day.
“We just wanted reps I guess,” Bar joked. “It’s a hot and humid day, but we feel good and are happy to be playing well.”
This is the first year that Pisnik and Bar have been playing together, and the tandem seem to have found their form after making it to Championship Sunday at consecutive tournaments.
“It’s super fun learning how to play together,” Pisnik said. “I think we’re doing pretty well and improving in every tournament.”
The No. 11 seeds will face either Etta Wright and Ben Johns or Jackie Kawamoto and Christian Alshon in the final.
